Mountain View Neighborhood Utilities Relocation
This project was an electrical utility upgrade for 139 residential homes. The project goal was to take all primary and secondary electrical distribution systems from an above ground to an underground configuration. The project included installation of three pad mounted switches, 25 pad mounted transformers and all medium and low voltage conductors required to supply homes with electrical power. Installation of over 50 high efficiency LED street lights, telecom infrastructure for all existing phone and cable services was also completed. A number of planned temporary electrical outages were accomplished with the coordination and aid of Base utility shops and Base housing management staffs. In addition, this project required completion of all above ground restorations and soil control concerns; repaving, concrete curb installs and demolition of existing above ground utility pole structures. The project stands to improve both the overall aesthetic and future ease of maintenance for the active duty family neighborhood.
Basewide Electrical Distribution Upgrades
This was a multi-phase medium voltage electrical system refurbishment and replacement project. In addition to upgrading electrical infrastructure, a large portion of the project was focused on relocating distribution lines and poles to improve future maintenance access and protect environmental resources and wetlands contained within the area of operation. Phase I was a design-build project including new underground electrical infrastructure, transformers, switching gear and conduits which feed the base telecommunications and command centers. Phase II and III were primarily concerned with replacement of 297 above ground wood utility poles and approximately 20 miles of overhead three phase conductors of various grades.
Greenback Lane Storm Drain System
This project on a heavily traveled boulevard in a large suburban neighborhood entailed removal and replacement of several thousand feet of overwhelmed and outdated storm drain. Installation of an enhanced 54 inch RCP drain system required excavation surpassing 18 foot depth, new manholes and drain structures, bypassing of storm water for the duration of the project, landscape restoration and erosion control. The finished project serves to beautify and protect both privately owned and publicly maintained properties for years to come.
